October 09, 2009 Records on Contract Provided to Legislative Committee   State Finance Director Bill Newton delivers boxes of documents requested by the Legislature’s Contract Review Committee. The Finance Director provided all documents the Finance Department has in relation to a contract. (Left) Upon learning that the committee’s office was already closed for the day, Newton calls the Clerk of the House to inquire where the requested documents can be delivered. (Right) MONTGOMERY - State Finance Director Bill Newton today carted over boxes of documents to the Legislature’s Contract Review Committee related to a contract for Paragon Source, LLC, but the committee’s office was locked and no one was there to accept the documents that the committee has requested. The Finance Director arrived at the committee’s office at 3:42 p.m. When discovering the door was locked and no one answered, he was told that the committee staffer “had gone home” and the office was closed. He then called the office of the Clerk of the House of Representatives to inquire where he could deliver the documents and was told to bring them to the clerk’s office, which he did. The Finance Director provided all documents the Finance Department has in relation to this contract.
